Together with its closely related research institute (Urological Research Institute – URI), our department has managed to become a leading institution in urological research prompting worldwide progress in patient care management thanks to its copious internationally recognized scientific production. The yearly contribution to the most important international congresses and to the European guidelines testify to the efficacy of our efforts. We currently have ongoing research protocols in the fields of prostate cancer, bladder cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and urinary incontinence, constantly enrolling patients.

The use of cutting-edge technology in urology allows not only for a better surgical and functional outcome for the patient, but also a faster and more significant recovery. This is why we have made technological innovation a cornerstone at our Institution. Our department is endowed with three operating rooms equipped with the most advanced surgical devices. We perform more than 400 procedures each year employing the da Vinci Surgical System®, a sophisticated robotic platform designed to allow minimally invasive options even for major surgery. Our equipment allows us to perform a wide range of procedures related to the major aspects of urological diseases.
